Hello,
I have a qx9650 (not overclocked), 8gb of memory and am running W7 Premium. My screen resolution is 1920 X 1080 and currently have two gtx 275 sli'd.

I want to be able to play the latest games on ultra and assume two 560 ti sli'd will do the trick.

My question is whether my cpu is going to hold me back?

Any thoughts?

I would say you should be fine with the CPU. According to Tom's recent charts, it is only one rung below the current top CPUs. http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-cpu-overclocking,3077-5.html

As to the cards, I don' think the improvement will be all that great. You can consult these charts and see what you think. The 275 is here. http://www.tomshardware.com/charts/2010-gaming-graphics-charts-high-quality/benchmarks,114.html

And the 560 ti's are here. http://www.tomshardware.com/charts/2011-gaming-graphics-charts/benchmarks,123.html

As a general rule of thumb, you do not see significant improvement unless you go up 3 rungs on the Hierarchy Chart. http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/fastest-graphics-card-radeon-geforce,3085-7.html

A GTX 275 to a GTX 560 Ti will be a nice improvement, SLi or not. Also, a GTX 560 Ti is three "rungs" above the GTX 275; 4 if you are counting the rung that the GTX 275 is on.

You'll be fine with that CPU and if you want a little bit more performance then overclock it a tiny bit.

1920x1080 ya. Your framerate will be lower than 60fps average though. Online shooters its best to have a constant 60fps to have the advantage over ur enimies.

At that resolution you will not be able to run everything at ultra level. You will most likely be able to run everything as follows from top to bottom on the settings high, all the rest ultra, no msaa, high fxaa, no blur, 16xAF and hbao. I would strongly suggest getting the 2gb versions. Depending on the cost you might just want to go with one 3gb gtx580. The 3gb 580 would probably be the most future proof option out there. What power supply do you have? Make sure it is at least a good quality 750watt.

Not sure what you mean by "use up more than 1 GB of memory efficiently". With one card and a NON bottlenecked by cpu gtx560ti it will most definately use all of the 1gb on the card. When you sli you still only have 1gb of vram. It doesnt add, it jsut remains 1gb per card.

I would most definately get a decent aftermarket cpu cooler and then OC that processor. it is unlocked so all that you will have to do is raise the multiplier. if you can get 3.6ghz you will bet set.

I have the power supply covered. for above, are you saying for one 560 or two sli'd?
