Hello everyone. I need to build a new PC for FSX in a few months time and I need some feedback on what build I think would be great. I want around 30FPS with GEX/REX/UTX and a payware aircraft.

Approximate Purchase Date: few months time

Budget Range: £1000 - £1200

System Usage from Most to Least Important: FSX, Gaming, Recording Gameplay.

Parts Not Required: keyboard, mouse, speakers and monitor

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Amazon

Country: England

Parts Preferences: Intel and a GTX series graphics card.

Overclocking: Maybe

SLI or Crossfire: No

Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080

Additional Comments: Quiet PC with a simple, plain but modern black system case.

This was my first idea -

i7 3770K, Asus GeForce GTX 580, Asus P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3 Motherboard, Corsair Vengeance 8GB 1600mhz DDR3 (Should I get 2000mhz?), and the rest I haven't decided so I need your help.

I don't think the i7 is really necessary, form what I hear FSX doesn't even fully utilise a quad core, let alone hyper threading. I would go for an i5-2500k. I would also go with one of the new HD 7000 series graphics cards, Nvidia's new cards aren't out yet but the 500 series are quite old now.

i5-2500k
8GB Mushkin Silverline 1333Mhz (Socket 1155 CPU's won't utilise anything faster unless you overclock the RAM which is unnecessary for gaming)
Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD4
Samsung 830 128GB
Seagate Barracuda 500GB
ASUS AMD Radeon HD 7950 OC TOP 3GB
Fractal Design Define R3
Noctua NH-D14
550W OCZ ZS Series
DVD Burner

Total - £1050 on www.aria.co.uk

You would get way better gaming performance out of something like this. It should be pretty quiet as well.
