Hello everyone,

I'm just looking for some help/improvements I can make to a future build I'm planning. I do realize that since I will be making this for school time ie the end of summer, I will have to keep an eye out on advancing technology.

Approximate Purchase Date: August

Budget Range: Up to 1300-1400

System Usage from Most to Least Important: School work, gaming, general internet usage, movies.

Parts Not Required: Keyboard, Mouse, Speakers, Monitor, Headset, Table/chair (I only need the tower).

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: http://www.tbcweb.com/ , I prefer them, although if you see another Canadian online or in store retailer, please share (such as amazon or future shop for example).

Country: Canada

Parts Preferences: I like intel, something to last me for a little while before I have to upgrade.

Overclocking: Maybe. If I can afford it, definitely.

SLI or Crossfire: Maybe, not really sure what I'd need/prefer.

Monitor Resolution: 1920x1200 (Widescreen 19 inch.)

Additional Comments: Something to last me for a few years before I have to upgrade. No more than that price range preferred.

*************************************************

For a processor, I would love to get the intel i5 2500k. I do realize that I can get this cheaper elsewhere such as amazon.ca. http://www.tbcweb.com/Processors.html store site, http://www.amazon.ca/Intel-i5-2500K-Processor-3-3GHz-LG... amazon.

For a hard drive, I don't think I'll need anymore than 500gb (unless I'm not being realistic for my needs. Currently I am sharing one with only about 320gb and I still have plenty of space with all the crap on it, and if needed I am willing to buy an external one later)

I would like to have 8gb of DDR3 ram, http://www.tbcweb.com/Memory.html,

I would like a video card to last me a while (while staying in my price range, upgrades can be made within 3-5 years).

I would like basic Windows 7 home premium 64-bit. Looking at again amazon again, http://www.amazon.ca/Microsoft-Windows-7-Home-Premium/d....

I would strongly like help in deciding in a power supply and motherboard, I have absolutely no clue in deciding how to buy them according to my needs/wants.

Thank you for all the help!

Come back when your ready to build, it's pointless to make suggestions now because prices and products will change by then.

+1

if u are sn eager then consider this

intel i5 2500k
asrock z68 extreme3 gen3
sapphire hd 7950
corsair vengence 2x4gb 1600mhz low profile ddr3
samsung spinpoint f3 500 gb
antec eco 630 w 80+ psu or higher
cooler master haf 912
asus x24 dvd burner
cm hyper 212 evo

if u still have money then get a 60 gb ssd to increase loading and boot speed. It is not important

if it is getting out of budget then bring down the gpu to a 6950 or wait for 7870 as they are bound to get in market in a week or 2 .
