This is my first 1080p monitor ever so I was usually used to playing all my games and such at 1024x768 on a 17".
My card has 896mb of ram, will I still be able to play my games very well? I am going to be moving to a larger resolution of course and was just wondering if my GTX 260 will work very well or if I should think about a better card? Current games are mainly the call of duty series but I'll play the odd game like dead space and such.

So yeah was just wondering if my 260gtx will be up to task :) Thanks for any help.

The 260 was a good card in it's day but is getting a bit old. You can play new games at 1920 x 1080 but not on the highest settings. You also have no Direct X 11 support with that card. You generally need a mid-high end card with 1GB of VRAM to play games maxed out at 1920. My GTX460 is about the minimum.

If I was buying new today I would look at the HD 6870 or the GTX560 Ti as a starting point for HD gaming. To be honest the Q9400 is getting a bit dated as well. Some games like Skyrim need a more powerful CPU to run well. If you can overclock it that would help.
