I'm looking to upgrade my CPU/GPU. Currently I'm using a Intel Pentium E5400 (dual core @ 2.7ghz) with an ATI 6670 in 1080p (not good I know).

Would you recommend that I go for a quad core processor with an ati 6770 or just go for a better card and get a 6870 with my old processor?

I'd get a quad core. 6870 isn't THAT much more powerful than 6670. And I bet you recently upgraded it too.

Getting another 6670 could be an option as well if you're willing to crossfire.

Just get the GPU the CPU will be fine, any restrictions you get with it will be more to do with core count than CPU speed.

If this is for more fps in games then go with a better gpu. The e5400 should be fine with the 6870. http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/AMD/HD_6670/22.html 6870 is 130% better than the 6670.

My bad there. I though there were closer apart.
