What connectors goes into a hard drive and dvd drive from the PSU?

Hi, I was wondering what connector goes into the hard drive and what connector goes into the dvd drive

Also, are LED sticks connected to the power supply or the motherboard?

Hi

Assuming a modern SATA drive.... one 12 volt sata power connector (from the psu) and a sata data connector from the motherboard...same for dvd drive...

Led sticks...12 volt molex connector from the psu...

Depends, internal HDD's and DVD drives will either use IDE or SATA when it comes to data transfering and when it comes to power they can either use a SATA power or a Molex connector.

And by LED sticks i assume you mean cold cathodes, which do connect to the PSU, but they require a converter inside your system(because they need AC power) which comes with the cathodes themselves.

For newer drives it will be a SATA power connector

For some older drives it will be a 4 pin Molex connector

As for where the LED sticks get their power, it will most likely be from the PSU, it definitely isn't the motherboard.
