I want to put my computers in the basement, Only problem is that it's damp down there.

Is dampness a big concern when it comes to computers?

I do have a dehumidifyer, but I don't want to runn it all the time ((Noise)Television is also down there)

well, assuming humidity is less than 100% (it doesn't spontaneously rain your basement) and the computer will be warmer than ambient temperature (which it will) you shouldn't have a problem. just don't use a peltier or other active cooling. The only thing I'd worry about is if you leave it off overnight, you may get condensation in the morning; dew inside your computer. Which probably wouldn't be good. not sure what to do about that.

Well, if your tv is down there and it didn't fry yet... I wouldn't see why the computer would have a problem.

I moved from the UK to the Middle East some months ago.

The humidity here is often 80% or higher.

I've had no problems with my PC's other than with overclocking. The (much) higher ambient temperature means I have to run all three at stock frequency, bah.

Thanks everyone for the good responses.

I'll go ahead and give it a try.
Most of my PC's are running all the time and only a few are ever turned off.

Thanks again !

As long as it's not damp enough to produce condensation- your fine.
