I have a epox 570 motherboard-8800gs card-6gb memory-5600+2.9 cpu-windows 7 full home edition.Why does my computer says my cpu s 2.0?

I can not play new games,Please help.

Saying you have a 2.9Ghrz CPU is like saying i have a car that drives 30mph. if you could provide the modle of the CPU like is it Intel or AMD. Is it a Core 2 Duo or first generation Core I's?

It is a adm 5600+ dul core 2.9

It is on computer system information page.I tryed games that need 2.5 cpu and they will not work.

Hmmm, is this a new processor? try to run CPU-Z and see what it tells you.

it is a used cpu.I downedloaded cpu-z.It says the amd 5600+ is a 2.1 cpu.I did not know adm made one.Do you think I should replace it?If you do what cpu can I use?Its a am2 940 pin.

Epox is gone and no cpu support list remains anymore.
The MF570 board can run a AM2 cpu and without a needed bios update I don't know if you could run a phenon I or not. That leaves the AthlonX2 6100+ as the fastest processor you could run. That processor is only 200mhz faster than the one you have and would be a waste of money if you buy it.

Now you say cpuz shows 2.1ghz. Perhaps the mulitplier is incorrect in your bios. It should be 14.5 and not 11.

if you want to play any modern games I'm afriad you'll need to save up for a motherboard, cpu, & ram upgrade at minimum.
