Before I purchase anymore, I would like to know if a 1.8in 64gb ssd is enough for a dual boot of Win7 and Ubuntu and if so, what partition ratio should I use.? My rig is going to be small,if anyone whats to know why a 1.8in ssd.

Its possible yes, but you're not kidding about mini with 64GB for 2 op systems.

Why is the 1.8 necessary? 2.5 is laptop standard, how mini are we talking? lol

If you must, install windows first. As far as partition ratios, which one are you planning to use more? I'd probably give more to windows rather than an equal 50/50 split.

Yes as windows 64bit should only require 20GB's and Ubuntu 10GB's. I would say 44/20 to stay about in ratio to min install size. This said you may be hard press to install a few programs on such a setup.

Well, my second option will be a 80gb 1.8in ssd. What about that?

Oh, for bulk storage I already have a TB 5400rpm hdd. I plan to use Win7 more and Ubuntu for Movies(xbmc) and web browsing.

I would get the highest capacity your budget allows if you're trying to play games. They would have to be installed on primary drive in order to play them, and some games alone can take over 10GB just for one.

Ah okay, well.. even so, I still say get the highest capacity you can afford lol.

Heck, why bother with windows at all? I ran Ubuntu purely for 4 years on my old Dell 8200. There wasn't much I couldnt google around to find out to make it work.

Some applications I use purely need Windows, I wouldn't do it if I didn't have to.

Looks good, but I can't find it at the newegg price!! The board in my rig has sata 3gbs connectors. If I did buy the one I found would the SSD speed decrease!?
