I am wanting to build my first computer but sadly i don't have much of a knowledge of parts yet so I was hoping I could get some help on the best parts i can get in my price range. I have a budget of about 1000 to 1500$

Personally I'd wait until the new offerings of each GPU family are released (soon we hope) before choosing.

That's about $880.00 if you go NVidia or about $840.00 or so if you go with "RED".

Add a couple of hundred for an OS and a good SATA HD and you're good to go (and under budget)!
