Screensaver goes blank (black)after functioning for an
hour or so. Settings have remained the same. Have tried
different screensavers.

Go to Control Panel - Power options - about half way down you'll see "Turn
off monitor:" change the corresponding setting to the lenth of time you want
the screensaver to remain on. - OK.

Your computer is probably going into hibernation. Adjust your power
management settings.
