ASK: PENTIUM G840 vs Core i5 2400

Guys, I want to ask something. I have just join this community. There are several things I'd like to know, I'm a newbie:

My rig is:
Pentium G840
MSI H61M P35
Team Elite 2x4GB DDR3
Sapphire HD 5850 Extreme
Seagate 500GB
Seasonic M12-II 520W

My questions:
1. Is that cpu will be bottleneck in most 3D game? (I play on 1600x900)
2. How much performance increase in percent will I get if I upgrade it to Core i5 2400?
3. What should I do to increase my rig performance (if I choose to stick with the G840)?

The g840 is quite a strong gaming processor at lower price points, but yes, it will slightly bottleneck that 5850 on some very CPU intensive games, especially those which have been programmed to use more than 2 cores

The core i5 is significantly better even if u get a cheaper i5-2300, that will still do good

I'd say keep the HD5850 for now, and upgrade later in another year or so, or whenever ur monetarily comfortable
