yall think it will be march until 6xxx and 5xxx drop in price? id think since a newer series came out the price would drop. but i guess they would wait until the competion to come out with something before losing money....

I would think right now that to lower there prices now would cause them more money. Reason I think this is because. Only a few were made and they will sell very quickly. They have to keep up the price so when the second wave of 7xxx series comes. They want you to buy them and If you aready have the older card then you won't buy.

But if they keep up the prices then you will hold off to get the newer ones. I am thinking that even when the Kepler come's out it might follow AMD. They want you to buy their new product. That way they make more money. I would guess it will be about a year before we can see any price decrease in the 6xxx and 5xx series.

This is just my opinion and I would love to be wrong. Because I want two of the GTX 560 ti's with the 448 cores. That would be perfect for my rig and the type of gaming I love to do.

^oh yeah that makes a lot of sense seeing that a single 6950 would struggle bad at 5760X1080

oh right on well if you are running 2 then you essentially are going to be gaming on one so youll be good for a single 1080p display

Up to 6 monitors 3 on 3 stack. I would have to get a whole new desk plus the hardware to mount the 3 top monitors. I wonder how many monitors you can run with two card in crossfirex? Whould it still be six do to the fact it is in crossfirex? Or what?

I read some newegg comment and it said only the black edition 7970 have lifetime warranty.

for the xfx warranty look at the right side in the grey box when looking at details. its only 2 years now. and the better xfx card that has a lifetime warranty is supposedly not transferable anymore. i cant find any warranty info for it on xfxforce.com

anyways i have a 7970 in my computer right now. upgraded from a 5770.
its amazingly better. the best thing is there is no longer flashing glitches on my monitors when i play a flash/html5 video. but its also way faster. playing skyrim before i was pulling 20 fps at max settings now im easily 50. i havent checked it with fraps or anything so dont know exacts. but i lower some AA and AF for more frames. looks the same to me but smoother.
playing team fortress 2, max settings, across my 3 27" monitors is gorgeous, buttery smooth.
while my 5770 had to go with mostly medium settings to get the same frame rate.
i also checked out starcraft II, though its not a very demanding game. but my 5770 did have trouble at max with a lot of units present. so i played the nexus wars custom map(which gets lots of units) and it never even seemed to get under 60fps. again no fraps, just going by eye.

this video card wasnt cheap but im happy with the investment. and since my motherboard supports 4 way crossfire with each slot at 8x. i might one day go crazy and get 3 more, though i would need models with single slot profiles, so watercooled. but ill wait a few years before deciding on that.

edited to make sence
