I currently have an fx 4100 overclocked to 4ghz and I was thinking of upgrading to the fx 8150 as an AMD fan would it be worth it? or should I wait for piledriver?

PLEASE DO WAIT FOR PILEDRIVER...atleast a 15% or more improvement over the FX 8150 is almost guaranteed :D

But with AMD's schedules u mite have to wait till November....but it wud definitely be worth the wait:)

what do you use the PC for? rendering, photoshop, gaming, etc.?

if you're doing anything like AutoCAD 3D, photoshop or any programs that fully utilizes the number of cores /threads, then yes, the 8150 will show some improvement, and grabbing it now wouldn't be so bad if you're REALLY impatient. not the best solution, but a solution nonetheless.

gaming, or non-threaded applications on the other hand,

you won't see a load of improvement. i'd suggest you OC the 4100 a bit more first and see how that goes.

i have my fx 4100 at 4.95 ghz paired with 560 ti and didnt see any need to upgrade to any other cpu. i have my fx set at the borderline of the safe voltage of 1.55 but i have it on a corsair h80 cpu cooler to compensate for the heat. also u gotta set the ram timings to get it to run at higher OC. basically its a trial and error with the ram, voltage and the capacity of your chip and also u goota know wat ur doing.

Dude i think u need to back down a little, 4.95 is quite an achievement, but i really wonder how long ur chip will last :)
