Upgrading my cpu or video card

need advice for this one, i have:

CPU: E6700 @ 3.6Ghz
VC: EVGA 9800GT 1GB
RAM: 4Gb ddr2 800mhz

i got this posible upgrades right now

CPU upgrade to Q9650

...or..

Video card upgrade to AMD 6870 (i know that my cpu will bottleneck this vc, but i play in a LCD tv via HDMI at 1280x720)

at the moment i only have money to upgrade 1 of those components, advice please.

Unless the Q9650 is very cheap get an i3 2100 with a new board and DDR3 RAM. But at that resolution its 50/50 which you should upgrade 1st but I would get the GPU 1st and only upgrade the CPU when I get a new board and a current generation CPU.
