Hi all,

So it might not truly be a "monster" but had to get you to look. Any part that's not optimal please let me know.

Purchase date: Ordering most parts in the next two weeks
System usage: Gaming, movies, web
Parts not required: GPU (read on!)
Country: USA
Preference: nVidia, Intel
Overclock: yes
SLI: not for now
Resolution: 1080p for now

CPU: i5-2500k (no link, you know this CPU) 225$

Case: Corsair 600T white 160$ : all links below

PSU: Seasonic M12II 850 Watts 150$ :

MOBO: Asrock E7G3 260$ :

Memory: 16gb Gskills Ripjaw Z series 4 x 4gb 160$ :

SSD: Crucial M4 128gb 190$ :

Cooling: Cooler master 212 EVO 39$ :

DVD: 20$ whatever

OS: Windows7 Home premium 64bit 100$

For a grand total of about 1300$ without a GPU!

Yes i'm not gonna buy a GPU until Kepler comes out, I've debated this a lot and posted previous build questions on these forums (thanks guys!!). I think i will wait and grab either a cheaper 580 if the price drops or a 660Ti if the numbers are right, eventually going to SLI 2 x 580 or 2 x 660Ti down the road in a couple of months. Feel free to critique the build but please no comments about GPU I wanna make sure everything ELSE is right. For now i'll probably just drop my current 250 GTS (lol bottleneck!) in there until Kepler comes out.

Thank you for any input.

There definitely is reason to have more than a 64GB SSD, even with just the OS you will shortly run dry of space. I currently have a 120GB SSD and am constantly shuffling around files so that it doesn't fill up. I'd say 120GB is the minimum you want for an SSD, especially if you're planning to install any games on it/use it for frapsing. I agree with all your other comments though, the only reason you would need to have more than 8GB RAM is if you were doing some semi-serious video work.
