Hi folks.

Just about to put the new build together but wondered how to fit the temperature sensor to the cpu and if i would need anything special to secure it in place. Would rather ask for advice beforehand than screw it up in the process.

Typically the built-in temp sensor on the motherboard will tell you how hot the CPU is. There should be another on the motherboard telling you the chipset temp as well... Which temp sensor do you have and what exactly are you trying to do?

Yea, I'm not sure I understand what you're saying either? Are you saying you have some sort of external temp sensor? how does that work? Theres sensors all over your board already.
