Hi all,

Intel says i5-3550 Turbo Boost up to 3.7GHz. When I try to stress-test with Folding@Home, it reaches 3.5GHz and remains constant at this speed. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks for your response.

Actually, now that I think about it, 3.4 is the max 4 Core Turbo speed and 3.5 is the max 3 core Turbo speed, but still nothing to really worry about.

So 3.7 is maximum speed for 1 core only? Btw, I am getting 3.5 on all 4 cores.

Yeah, 3.7 is max 1 core Turbo, but for the 3550, max 4 Core Turbo is supposed to be 3.4. A bit strange there, honestly, but not really a problem.

I am going to make sure whether the CPU frequency monitor is functioning properly.

At idle, it's 1.6 Ghz. Is this right?
