Trouble setting up wireless network adapter

I have a Linksys wireless network adapter w/Speedbooster (WUSB54GSC) that I am trying to connect to a Linksys wireless router (WRT54GC).

The computer is using Windows 7, which I could not find a driver for on their website. I found a driver on the internet which said it worked for Windows 7, but it made the computer freeze on startup. So I restored to before that installation.

The Network adapter can see the network, but cannot connect to it. Windows troubleshooting said to cycle the power on router, so I did (on the router and the modem). Didn't fix the problem.

Am I just SOL with this adapter and Win7?
