Hardware to software rendering

Hello,
my question is....if graphic accelerator problem makes VPU Recovery unsuccessful and I am now on software rendering, does it mean i need a new graphics card ?? I have a Radeon 9200, quite old i know...

have 2 desktops, one in question is windows xp home...Radeon is maybe 12 years old. Happy to invest in new graphics, I feel case is running hot, no fan on graphics card.

Consider new system, 12 year old systems wont run new card,
new system also wont run XP.

if you dont wanna dump the card yet, try updating the drivers, since it's XP, drivers should still exist...

because new hardware dont even support XP anymore ?
almost all the new laptops go BSOD directly as soon as you try to install XP on them,
same goes for the new intel and AMD based systems for desktops....

All the hardware I'm currently using has XP support.
