CPU for streaming/frapsing/video editing - do I need an i5?
Jun 28, 2012, 8:42 PM
I'm doing my first build ever for on a budget computer ($600 max without OS/peripherals). The purposes for this computer are gaming, frapsing, streaming and video editing.
I'm not interested in overclocking whatsoever and the two processors I was looking at were an intel i3 2100 ($90) vs the i5 3450 ($150) - I live by a Microcenter.
I'm also trying to save money on the motherboard. If I get the i3 can I get away with a cheap H61? And if I get the i5 3450 is there any reason to get more than a B75 mobo (remember, no overclocking).

An i3 will be fine...depending on how many cores you need for your video editing software...if you need lots you might also think about a 6 core Amd...
All the best Brett
