Need help with a gaming CPU

I'm looking for the most bang for my buck. I'm also looking for future upgrade space.

My budget is around $600. I want to build this to only play Battlefield 3, for now. I'm ok with medium graphics.

I'm a complete idiot when it comes to newer PC's these days. So I don't know how to overclock GPU's or CPU's. I already have Windows 7 64 bit so the OS shouldn't be included.

I've been checking out this website. http://gamingrig.blogspot.com/

Is that website what I should be looking at instead of asking here?

I wish to thank each and every one of you for helping me with my seriously boring and bland life.

you have a budget of $600 for the whole pc? or just the cpu? you should be able to get a decent i3-2120 with a 6870 setup for $600, providing you have a monitor. Tell me what parts you have and i'll see what i can come up with for you.

Sorry, I should have been more specific. I can get a loaner monitor for the time being. So I'm looking at just the desktop/tower.

Thank you so much. Things to me now a days just seem so complicated. It didn't used to be back in the Voodoo GFX card days. :(  I really do appreciate your time. One human being to another.

If I could shake your hand and buy you a beer in RL I would.
