Hello.

Recently I have bought a new cpu i5 670 1156, I was badly informed about the 1156 socket, and the price was kind of high. Is this cpu good enough for gaming?.

Thank you

Intel is the best deals nowadays. If you can still return the board & the processor, it will be good & buy a 1155 platform. Are you building a totally new PC? If yes, I suggest that you create a new thread following this:

Im now well informed with the sockets, just the CPU im interested, any recomendations? that matches the ivybridge i5's price.

The Intel® Core™ i5-670 for $340? The recommended price on that processor new was $305 but it has been discontinued for over a year now. At the time it was a fast dual core processor but today the Intel Core i5-2500K and the new Intel Core i5-3570K.
