Hello, I am starting a new build in two weeks and would like some advice on the hard ware i just purchased this week, and the proper steps to complete a clean install for components and OS. Here is what i have now and on the way.

AMD FX-8120 Zambezi 3.1GHz Socket AM3+ 125W Eight-Core Desktop Processor FD8120FRGUBOXModel #:FD8120FRGUBOXItem #:N82E16819103961

COOLER MASTER Storm Scout SGC-2000-KKN1-GP Black Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer CaseModel #:SGC-2000-KKN1-GPItem #:N82E16811119196

I also have 2 XFX ati radeon HD 5770 1 GB DDR5 to run in crossfire and adding 2 more Coolmaster 120MM red LED fans on case door. I haven't decided on a dvd or blueray drive yet, and am leaning towards a 24" or 27" LED 1920x1080 monitor, and because my funds will be running out after all this, need some advice on a hdd 750gb or 1tb.

All advice and input will be much appreciated.

Can you post links to the products vs their #'s (I don't want to look all those up).

Okay that looks like a good solid build, but you don't need that much memory, 8GB is more than enough and can be had for $50.

Get a good cooler master CPU cooler for less that is better.

The GPU is lacking but I assume you will upgrade that later after the full 7xxx series is released (78xx comes out 19th) and Kelper is released (first comes 23rd).

For the Hard Drive I would get one of these, personally I would get the 1TB WD caviar black (because I prefer WD) but the Segate is a great deal.

You must know that the i5 greatly outperforms (occasionally matching) the new AMD processors and if you can do switch to one of the intels.

Besides that it looks good.

The system will be used for 3d rendering and a lot of gamming, thats why I tought about the 16gb of ram, but that still might be overkill? and I know the GPU is outdated, but have 2 to use for now which should be an improvement in crossfire verses just 1 from my old build. This is the first time using AMD CPU, thaught to give them a try for the price. I hope it dosn't dissapoint me LOL. Thank you for the advice Andrew.
