Unknown USB Cables

Heya all, my partner just got his new pc delivered. There are 2 usb cables sticking out the back and we arnt sure what these are for? Nothing seems to happen when we plug them in or take them out. If anyone could shed some light as to what they may be for that would be very helpful :)

More about unknown cables
  1. They're probably passthrough cables for the front usb ports that have to be plugged into the back of the PC, once plugged in the front ports become active.
  2. ahh ok thanks. its got 2x usb 3.0 ports on the front so maybe its for them? the normal older usbs work on the front without the usb cables at the back plugged in.
  3. The extra cables are probably for routing the additional leads/pins 5-9 for USB3.0 connectivity:

  4. Thankyou very much I think you are right.

Thanks again for your help. I'll get him to test something in them to see if that's what it is :) cheers
  5. No problem, glad I could help.
