Dlink 24 port configuration

just want to ask how can i configure our dlink switch, it has a female serial console port at the back. they say i can configure it using cli commands (if im not mistaken).. i dont know the exact program that can configure this switch, i want to create a vlan network in this switch is it possible? if so, can someone out-there with helping hands can provide me the program that i can use so that i can configure our switch?

As always, you should download the relevant manual from D-Link's website (see Support pages). That has to have the proper instructions. If it’s only configurable over serial (which seems unlikely unless it’s really old, otherwise it should be available over TCP/IP too), then it most likely uses a serial application (e.g. Windows HyperTerminal) as the interface, so you just enter your commands line by line.
