$750 Gaming

What I want to do with my system is serious gaming.
-overclock cpu
-sli/crossfire in the future

I dont need
-HDD: I have Seagate Barracuda 7200 500 GB
-GPU: waiting to see what kepler has to offer. If i dont like it ill probably go with a 7870

So any build ideas for the rest the PC would be awesome :)

  2. That doesn't leave him with much for a GPU when Kepler is released.

  5. I would suggest only 2 changes to ghost's build

CPU Cooler: the 212 is great bang for the buck, but the Scythe Mugen is almost as good as Notcua's ND-H14, and only runs ~$50

I would also suggest a motherboard with at least 3 pci express slots. With 2 cards, you run into a phenomenon called microstuttering. You'll notice an inconsistent framerate, even though the average fps may be at 60. Above that framerate, it's less noticeable, but it may get annoying as your machine ages and the fps of new games you buy start dropping into that range.

No one has seemed to figure out why yet, but microstuttering only happens with 2 cards. 3 or 4 eliminates the problem.
