Arial font going italic in bold

I recently changed a setting in Display to set ClearType.
Someohow it now causes Arial to appear in italics when I
select bold. I have gone all through the display options
including the advanced and can't reset it. I have no clue
how this happened. However as one of my main apps uses
Arial bold as it's default font it's becoming irritating
to say the least. Any advice on how to reset it
gratefully received.
