HD6970 or GTX560/570?

Not sure what graphics card to go for...

The Sapphire HD6970 2GB Dual fan looks very impressive and I was set to buy it until I discovered how good some of the non-reference GTX560 and GTX570 cards card...

The only thing I really need is a full HDMI port at the back (unless there is no loss in quality with reduced size HDMI ports?)

Please help!

There is no loss in quality with a reduced size HDMI port. I use a HDMI micro port (smaller then mini) to output full 1080p to a TV.

I plan on using it to play high-end games at 1900 x 1080....

I'm currently looking at:

MSI HD6950 2GB Twin Frozr III Power Edition

gtx560 Ti (not sure what the best iteration of this is...)

Sapphire HD6970 2GB Dual Fan (bit pricier, and not sure if it is worth ~25% more than the hd6950...?)

Which would suit me best?

Thanks :) That restores a couple more graphics cards as options!

Well i know you can unlock the 6950 to a stock 6970 so you should keep that in mind if you are savvy about that sort of thing.

I feel somewhat tentative about the unlocking to 6970 as I've heard that there is only ~50% chance of unlocking a non-reference 6950 to a 6970, and although its supposed to be easier on reference cards, they are noisier and hotter... and even if you do manage it, the power requirements of the 6970 and 6950 differ (8 pin and 6 pin, instead of two 6 pins), and I'm a bit worried about this...

On second thoughts, I'll take your advice gregcky :) found some encouraging instructions on how to unlock the shaders on the 6950 to 6970, so I feel much more confident about it now... Thanks for the advice!
