I would like an in-depth explanation on the best gaming processors

Hello, my name is Keo and I’d like to find the best processor I can. Well say that money isn’t a factor. I’ve read (on this forum) that some i5's beat i7's and that the fx-8150 can’t even compete with an i3. This will be solely a gaming rig for the tournaments I attend locally maybe the occasional fraps video, but you know.

If money isn't a factor at all an i7 would help for rendering video and some games (few few) use the extra cache, but other than that the i5 is the best for gaming.
