Hello,

So i built a new computer today. I do not have a normal monitor. I'm using my TV as my display. 32" LED tv. I cannot get sound at all. When i go to control panel->sound->manage devices i see my video card there says something like AMD HDMI sound or something. but it doesn't have a green checkmark. I've been searchin all day and cant't find an answer. I'm using a Radeon HD6770 Says it supports sound. this is taken straight from their website for this card.
Integrated HD audio controller

Output protected high bit rate 7.1 channel surround sound over HDMI or DisplayPort with no additional cables required
Supports AC-3, AAC, Dolby TrueHD and DTS Master Audio formats

Try this out:

right click on your sound volume control (i'm assuming you have windows 7) and select playback devices.

Under playback devices, you should be able to right click on your audio output (there might be a couple, one might say HDMI or digital output) and select set as default.

Basically try one of them until you can hear sound.

Tried doesn't work. there are 4 options

AMD HDMI OUTPUT
amd high definition audio device
not plugged in

Speakers
high def audio device
not plugged in

Digital Audio (s/PDIF)
high def audio device
ready

Digital audio (S/PDIF)
high def audio device
Ready

the AMD HDMI Output is what im wanting but it says not plugged in.

the two that say ready dont give me sound.

tried, didn't work. Even tried disableing everything and only leaving the AMD HDMI out enabled and still nothing. I checked to make sure the driver was installed and it is. says the device is working properly. But still no sound.
