I have a more than 4 year old XPS 720. It is getting worse and worse in current games and im near the end of the upgrade path. I would like to know its value approximately and whether or not to sell it or strip it of the parts i need.

Case: XPS 720 with black front
Mobo: No idea but its dell BTX 7 slot and the chipset is: NVIDIA nForce 680i SLI Chipset
CPU: Intel® Core™2 Quad Processor Q6600 (8MB L2 Cache, 2.40GHz, 1066MHz FSB)
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 260 GB 7200 rpm
GPU: Gainward GTX 460 GS*
RAM: 4x1 GB DDR2 800Mhz**
Opticals: 1 DVD Rom and 1 DVD R/RW
PSU: 750W 4 rail psu

*Added 1 year ago when the 8600GTS burned down
** Added 2 sticks 1 year ago to get a little more juice than 2 GB

This is the dell site for the XPS 720 and shows some the look of the case and the features. http://www.dell.com/us/en/bpi/desktops/xpsdt_720/pd.asp...

Im currently thinking about either selling it or using some parts. The only parts i could use in my new build would be the 2 optical drives.
So what do you think i could sell it for? and should i do it?

You can reuse HDD and PSU too. And if you are on low budget reuse the video card too.

i suggest you put it on craigs list for $350 and if you get no bites in a few days, strip it out.

Not really a low budget. Im going to use 2000$ approx. And the PSU is from what i read bad quality and i really want a 1 12V rail instead of 4 rails. Im considering reusing the HDD as well as i will buy a 120GB SSD for the new build and the 250 HDD would be okay for a while.

350 would be nice. I think i will do that and that would pay a good part of my new build. I personally only thought it was worth 250 so the more the better.

With 2000$ you can sell your PC complete and buy all new parts. You can have an amazing gaming PC with that budget.
