CPU Overheating

My comp starts off at 60-70 C according to a diagnostic program I use called Speccy and then the temp of the CPU rises up to 100C and and shuts off, not playing a game or anything, just facebook pretty much and it steadily rises and shuts off. What could be the causes for this and what should I do? The cpu is a 2nd gen i7 running at stock speed and ive checked the temp in bios and it said 89C.

Sounds like the CPU fan isnt working properly. Pull the side panel off and turn it on and make sure the CPU fan is spinning. If it is, then you probably need to reapply the thermal paste.
