Can I plug in my office cat 5 to an adsl router to go wireless in the office?

I have just moved from my home office into a serviced office with cat 5 cabling internet. It works fine if I plug it directly into my mac but doesn't work if I plug it into my belkin N+ wireless router. Have I got the wrong type of router?

No. you probably have an IP address conflict. Check the IP address you get when connected directly versus the one when connected to the router. If it's in the same range, you can either change the range on the router or convert it to a wireless access point.

Thank you for your reply - can you help me with how to check the IP addresses please and if I need to change it on the router - how do I do that???
