Which one is better and why? The main thing I'm looking for is power quality and overall quality, not cost (they're pretty close and they will last a long time). Here's my build: i5 3570k (I'm overclocking), noctua d14, gigabyte gtx 670 (probably overclocking), asus p8p67 deluxe (with bios update), xonar dx, mushkin chronos 120gb, cooler master haf x blue, g. skill 8gb 1600mhz.

seasonic is a tier one power supply maker; manufactures other brands. Antec, corsair, ocz, and enermax are also good.

Super Flower (the OEM for the Kingwin Lazer PSU line) is also a tier one manufacturer. Corsair doesn't make their own PSUs, they have Seasonic make them. Antec uses Delta (mostly). OCZ, I believe uses Sirfa (or Sirtec, I get them confused). Enermax makes their own.

Blind brand loyalty has always been an issue on this forum. I recommend looking at the reviews on jonnyguru dot com for both units and make an informed decision for yourself. If it were me, I would get the Super Flower (Kingwin) as I have not heard of coil whine complaints, in general, from that manufacturer. Seasonic has fixed, from what I've read, their coil whine issues since I got burned about 2 years ago with a dozen or so PSUs that all whined like crazy (all Seasonic OEM).

both are excellent PSU so it's really not a "which is the better PSU" question but rather which fits your needs better. look at things like cable length, number of cables provided, price, etc., but you are not making a bad choice with either PSU.

Kingwin platinums are excellent and a good buy if its cheaper than the Seasonic. There have been a lot of DOA Seasonic Platinum unit on newegg so watch out for that.

Always good to find out about another brand; I've used superflower in the past; excellent unit for the price. Didn't realize they made kingwin.

I'm not worried about DOA. You can't base doa rate on the amount of people who posted that they got a doa psu, they wouldn't have made a review otherwise. Also, you can just return it if you got a bad one.

most DOAs are caused by shipping damage rather then a poor build. I would be more concerned with people reporting the PSU going up in smoke then getting some DOA units.

I didn't get any answers with evidence, so I looked at the ripple, and the seasonic has a more constant, lower frequency, and a more constant voltage. Also, I don't like kingwin's fan profile, so I bought the seasonic.

you got two awesome reviews, they are nearly equal, what more do you want. Even if someone had owned both of them, all they could tell was it worked or didn't work. very few of us have scopes sitting at home, and the facilities to test.

How did you look at the ripple? Was it my checking the reviews I provided?
When looking at the results myself you'd have to be nitpicking like crazy to say that one is overall better than the other; in some areas the Kingwin is better, in others the Seasonic is better.
