Running Win ME, XP1600, 512 DDR ram, K7S5A MOBO, and I am getting a gradual slowdown to the point when I'm told that there are not enough resources to run a program, the mouse gets so slow and jumpy and programs wont open, anyone got any ideas ??

That's a 16 bit memory leak somewhere.

Check your startup/resident programs. Start shutting down Mickey Mouse stuff until it works right.

If that doesn't work, beat it with a bat until the problem stops.

Look at the PC Health Scheduler, it could be the problem.
