nothing will beat them for price/brute strength, but 480s are F****** loud and hot in SLI.

Hmm...... I read that article and it said that the 480 2-way SLI's hit all the way up to 900, but that was with a Overclocked i7.. Maybe I should go with a 1000w If I were to overclock. It also said that nothing less than a 800watt. I should be alright but, I would have to buy a 1000watt or so to do so.

These would be your all around best bet for a power house gaming rig for $500

The only downside of 78XX cards (as well as the gtx 560ti ) is that you can on do two-way crossfire, making future upgrades more expensive.

To clarify, that setup sucked 900 watts AC from the wall at ~87% efficiency which translates to less than 800 watts DC being produced and the power supply you found can produce 840 watts at 12v DC (the 12v rail is the only one that really matters)

You dont want to run 4way SLI 480s it will run you into the red big time you would need new 4 way enabled mobo $500 new 1300watt PSU $350 plus 4 x 480 $1000 total waste = almost $2000 all in plus taxes and shipping and it will heat the hell into your house LOL.
Lol Don't worry I would never do that and probably couldnt afford it :p :p
