Ati radeon hd 6770 vs 6850

hi all,
i'm just wondering which is the better bang-for-buck since the 6770 is $50 cheaper than 6850. i'm planning to pair it with an i5-2400, 4GB ram, on an H61 motherboard (pcie x16 1.0)

i'm planning on playings BF3, Crysis 2, LA Noire, MW3, GTA IV (my favourite ^^) and later GTA V hopefully..

so would there be a significant drop in frame rate? I consider anything from 30-40 FPS good enough and i dont really mind sacrificing quality for frame rate.

It really depends on your monitor resolution. If you are @1080P then the HD6850 is really worth the price difference but lower than that the HD6770 should handle everything well.

whats your resolution? 6770 will run out of power at 1080p, maybe even earlier...
6850 gets my vote

You should get that hd 6850, not only will grant you a good gameplay at 1080p will also be a future proof buy below that res.

Remember, there are upcoming games out there and maybe that hd 6770 won´t be enough.

you can play mw3 at high and gta4 medium at settings at 1920x1200 at 60fps with 6770, but if you can invest more then 6850 is definately a better choice.

Only for information, radeon 7 series will support dx11.1

yes, truegenius is rigth, hd 7000 not only will support better technologies will also have better perfomance per watt so you can wait till hd 7770 that is rigth to your budget, in fact i´m waiting for it

7770 will be out this spring and will provide better performance in future games.
