2+-year-old threads brought up - ignore or report?

It's quite common I see threads that are 2 or more years old being brought up, some even as old as 10 years. Should these be reported via "report", or just ignored? Obviously, I'll use report should these be brought up due to spam and the like, but I often see things that don't need the attention of the moderators. I'm just wondering on this, that's all.

We deal with this sort of thing on a case-by-case basis. Sometimes the new post may be in a thread that is still relevant 3 years later. Other times the person is asking for advice from a member who hasn't posted here in years and is never going to respond. Use your discretion and decide if you think it is worth reporting or not. Note that if the thread is one of the Usenet archives that we have here feel free to report it. They're just a nuisance and a spam magnet.

I've seen those "archived from Usenet" indicators on threads, especially from about 2005 and earlier. Thanks for the info and I'll consider it in the future.
