for a 800$ budget I'd suggest you to go with AMD especialy if your not going to overclock. The money saved on the PC and mobo will let you choose a bether GPU.

A phenom4 black 980 is about 150$ US quad core 3.7GHz, The 970 is 130$ for 3.5GHz quad core and an i5-2500k will turbo at 3.7GHz but for 220$.

You can get an AMD mobo for 80$ or so but you'll spend 100$+ for the same mobo with intel chip.

With that money saved you'll probably be able to get a bether GPU.

Now that Nvidia price went down both ATI and Nividia are good to buy. Just pick wathever you want betwin 170$ to 250$.

The HD6870 is realy realy good money/performance wise at 170$ and the HD6950 or the 560ti will do wounder for 250$ or so (pick the cheapest you can find)

I strongly disagree. Comparing core count and clock speed is meaningless. Clock for clock, the sandy bridge chips absolutely destroy AMD's offerings, to the point that dual core Intel chips routinely beat AMD quad cores, and Intel quad cores beat AMD octo cores, even in highly threaded workloads. Intel chips are simply much, much better than AMD chips are right now.

The 2500k isn't the only option, either. The i3 2120 and i5 2400 are both excellent chips that compete at the same price point as the AMD chips you listed. They're also faster.

A new monitor I think would be a good place to start. 1366x768 is just not up to standards these days. 1080p would obviously be recommended, 22" is usually the "size of choice".

Rough build idea:
CPU: i3-2100 or i5-2500k (depends what fits into budget here).
COOLER: Hyper 212+ or similar (not really needed if you choose to go i3-2100)
MOBO: Z68 chipset, ASUS/Gigabyte recommended
GPU: 6870 or GTX 560Ti, again depending which will fit into budget
PSU: 500w Corsair, XFX, SeaSonic or Antec branded. Look for 80PLUS bronze or higher
RAM: 8GB (2x4GB sticks) of DDR3 Dual Channel 1600MHz, CL9
HDD: Anything that's 7200RPM really, pick whatever size you need, 320GB/500GB/1TB ect.

another rough build idea

i3-2120 (higher clock, $5 more)
Stock cooler or Hyper 212+
Asus/Gigabyte Z68 Mobo
7850 (6xxx prices are rising)
80PLUS silver/higher 650W PSU
8GB DDR3 1333/1600 RAM
Any HDD

pls check out the prices from flipkart.com...........
also Z68 chipsets are not cheap here and are also not easily available.
pls suggest that is listed on flipkart.com

H67 chipset is about the same price as Z68, and P67 is more expensive than Z68 at flipkart, so I don't see any problem with you getting a Z68 board, since it's available.

So here's the suggestions I have:
CPU: i3 or i5 - there's a 4k difference so, seeing how you're on a budget you'll have to settle for i3 I think.
Mobo: asus z68 as requested
GPU: Sapphire 6870 there's a 200 cheaper HIS model if you want it
RAM: cannot find any 2x4gb 1333 kits, so you will have to look elsewhere or get 1600 and run it at lower clock (supposedly new bios revision on mobos allows for 1600 support on i3 but I'm not sure on that)
PSU: Antec 650W - CF certified
-----------------------------------------------------> Sub total: 35531 (i3+sapphire 6870) = leaves you with 10k for everything else.
if you want i5, will leave you with 5k for everything else.

HDD: any you're comfortable getting
Case: your preference (micro-ATX with that mobo, although if you want to get an ATX then mobo is a little cheaper, but then case more expensive)
CDrom: cheapest you can find, this tech is so simple a caveman could do it

hope that helps
