I'm noticing a really high frequency beeping coming through my speakers. Its intermittent and lasts 2-3 seconds at a time. It begins a few seconds after I turn my computer on and gets louder if I volume up, goes away when I mute, etc.

My audio is through HMDI into my 5.1 receiver.

I'm using a Corsair CX430 PSU, would that have anything to do with it?

Thanks!

I have a couple questions.

What kind of motherboard is this?

Have you tried another set of speakers?

Have you tried a non-integrated sound card? PCI sound cards aren't very expensive these days. 20 bucks or so for a decent one? (assuming that yours is integrated into the mobo, hence my asking the board type).

No, I don't think the PSU is causing it. Although, I suppose anything is possible. Lets eliminate the simple things first.

Well, I discovered it only happens when my stereo is set to a particular audio decoder. So I'm just not using that one. Not sure why this would happen, it only happens with my computer as the source.
