ASUS RT-N12 installation

I have a NetGear Range Max WPN824v2 router beside my Gateway desktop. Some areas of my house my Mac laptop cannot get the WiFi signal. I wish to use the ASUS RT-N12 as a WiFi extender. What is involved in installing the ASUS RT-N12 to serve as the extender so my Mac laptop can get my NetGear's signal? I'm using cable which has a high baud rate.

first of all I, as does ASUS tech support, recommend to upgrade the firmware of your ASUS to DD-WRT, It will run more stable and provides more configuration options.

how are you planning on connecting the two routers? wired or wirelessly

Wirelessly.
I was hoping I could use the "connect" feature just using my IPad
but if not, I'll reset and wait until my wife returns with the Mac Laptop and use the ethernet cable. There are few to no WiFi signals in the area during the day except my NetGear so mine would be the predominante one.

NOTE: I FOUND AND DOWNLOADED THE MANUAL IN PDF AND IT APPEARS TO BE CLEAR AND ANSWERS MY QUESTIONS.
