Hello,
I'm running with an i5 2500k, 6950 2 gb, and 8 gigs of ram and using my imac 27 in as a monitor for my tower. Games such as battlefield 3 look really fuzzy in a 1920x1080 resolution look really fuzzy but at 2560x1440, I take a huge performance hit. I was over at my friends house the other day, and couldn't help notice how nice bf3 looked on his 23" monitor. So the question is, can i reformat my screen and get black bars around the screen so it basically is a 23 in monitor? i would love to be able to get the performance boost.
Sorry if this was confusing.

Yes, you can make it that it has black bars around the screen. I suppose that you have The AMD Catalyst Control Center (CCC).

Open up CCC, change to advanced view in preferences.
Go to My Digital Flat-Panels > Properties (Digital Flat-Panel) > Image Scaling
Enable GPU Scaling and change the options to "Use Centered Timings".

Do the steps above only when you are at 1920x1080 since AMD CCC saves each settings for each Resolution.

Hope it helps! :)

When I got to image scaling, I can enable or diable GPU scaling, but the rest (Maintain aspect ratio, Scale image to full panel size, and use centered timings) is greyed out with only scale image to panel size being selected. What do I do?
