How much faster is 2nd gen i3 to core 2 duo?

My current laptop which is classified as mid-high-end back in 2008 has a Intel core 2 duo T7300 2.0Ghz.
How much faster is a mobile 2nd gen Core i3 CPU like this http://ark.intel.com/products/52220...dia GT 8600m. Is that GPU slower than HD3000?
