A much needed upgrade

I believe it is finally time I upgrade my pentium 4 3.0ghz, 4 gig ram (3 usable, I know) 8600GT. I can still do pretty much everything I need with this pc which is watch movies, play wow, code html/css/php, an update would be nice.

This is the spec I have in mind right now

Initially I was going for an i7 but then thought it would be a waste and decided on an i5, but then that too would be a waste as I would not be using the full potential of the machine. This is what I have settled for but since this is not what I do I have come here to ask the pro's
Please tell me what changes I need to make in this config.

i would go with a 6770 and never use a crappermaster psu, try antec and corsair

Or, get a 6790. But the 6770 is still pretty good.

Wouldn't the 6770 or the 6790 be an overkill if I dont play that many games?

The 6770 is a really good budget card,if you want the 6790 then just for the 6850. The 6850 is only 10 dollars more and its way better.
