I have this computer: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Dell+-+...rive/3152172.p?id=1218380519466&skuId=3152172

I have tried playing games on it and it doesn't run very smoothly and i figured out that the graphics card is holding it back. Im thinking about upgrading to this card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127560
Would this card work with my computer? And is my power supply good enough to support it? I have a picture of the power supply if needed. If this isn't the best card to suit me please list one around $250

Hi likaconee,
I think first you change your PSU to 550W power PSU[http://www.corsair.com/power-supply-units.html],
because you have AMD Radeon HD 6450 ,it's a good card for gaming.
But definitely change your psu it give the power to your GPU.
I think this is not a good time for GPU upgrade .Wait for AMD 7 series/NVIDIA 6 series graphics card hit the market.
;)

the system is equipped with AMD Radeon HD 6450 graphics not a 6870 by dell
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Dell+-+Studio+XPS+Desktop+/+Intel%26%23174%3B+Core%26%23153%3B+i5+Processor+/+6GB+Memory+/+1TB+Hard+Drive/3152172.p?id=1218380519466&skuId=3152172

i think it have only 300w cheap psu under the hood

Psst, if you purchase the system from Dell you get the option to upgrade almost any of the internal components, when you buy from a brick and mortar like BestBuy you get what they got.
Check the review in the BestBuy in link, it tells you the psu wattage.

i read whole review of "Joel Santo Domingo, PCMag.com"
and i found no sign of 450w psu, can you tell me the paragraph number in which i can found that :??:

2
"Design and Features
The latest version of the XPS 8300 looks like previous versions. If you weren't looking too closely at the back panel or the model number on the box, you'd probably couldn't tell it apart from the Dell XPS x8300-1225NBK ($749.99 list, 3 stars). It has the same glossy black front face and matte black sides. It's more stylized than its Dell Inspiron siblings, with a chrome-colored ring around the bezel. Dell has also updated the interior allowing for more expansion room, but you'll have to take into consideration its 460W power supply if you're planning on making any upgrades of the GPU nature"

He believes it would need to be upgraded, don't know him, don't want to hurt his feelings , but he's wrong.

You could always go to Dell.com to confirm this, oh here

Just grab now XFX SMPS ProSeries 650W PSU [http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817207014] :ouch:
It's enough for all high end graphics card until you are not planning to sli or crossfire. :sarcastic:
Later grab any ATI 7series or NVIDIA 6 series [KEPLER] in this year first quarter.
;)
Upgrade 6450 to 6850 is not a good idea. :pfff:

Sigh
Why not ?
Like I said it was sold with a 5870

Yes I appreciate your view.
But I wana 2 say that now 6850 available at $149.
If somebody wait for 3months then he can easily get 6950 at $149.
For my side I will play game low settings & wait for a month to get descent gpu at $149. ;)
