I have a cable modem but it seems really slow, when talking to the support people they said everything looked good and when I first downloaded a 5mb test file it took 7 minutes to download. After deleting and trying to download it again it too 1 second to download all 5MB. I was wondering if my NIC Card could be the problem. It was like a $9 dollar special I bought off of pricewatch.com Is there a way to see if the NIC card is my bottle neck, cause I"m getting speeds of a 56k modem, downloads are usually 6kps the fastest even being finally a 30kps but those are few and far between. It's suppose to be a 1500/300 Road Runner AT&T connection.

You can go to http://www.dslreports.com and run some tests from there. They won't say what your problem is but at least there are some more tests you can run from there to test your connection at look at other tests from people with the same service.

Yeah I've been there, I've posted and read all the reviews for my area. Everyone else around the Twin Cities seems to love it. But all the benchmarks I've done on it.. it's always coming in slow. But the guy said the signal to my host was good. So I thought maybe it was the cheap NIC I have in my PC. Thanks though.

Why don't you try another nic and run somemore tests to see if that helps. Another think you could check is if you have the latest drivers installed.
