I am just now getting done with my first computer build, I am almost there just need to get the GPU cards. I have been wanting to run two XFX Radeon 6950 and unlock them to 6970. I would buy them with at least 2GB RAM. Why are the XFX cheaper then MSI or the other brands? Can you unlock the XFX? I want to run two cards because I will be running three monitors. Is there any suggestions on monitors. All I need is 1920x1080 Monitors or is there more to them then that? This is my first build and I want it to go smoothly. This is what I have so far.

WHAT MONITORS SHOULD I BUY THAT ARE REASONABLY PRICED SUGESTIONS PEOPLE ITS ALMOST DONE SO CLOSE AND MY BUDGET IS ALMOST GONE AND WINDOWS COST 200.00 ON ITS OWN WHAT TO DO WHAT TO DO????????
WHATS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN XFX AND MSI OR HIS OTHER THEN LOOKS ARE THEY ALL UNLOCKABLE?

if By MSI OC 6870 u mean the HAWK , then i should warn u that in CRossfire theyre quite noisy !
get the 6950 and unlock them , i don;t know about the XFX but i think that the reference boards are all unlockable , ( a friend of mine unlocked a Saphire quite easily )

What do you mean none of the current cards can be unlocked? Did they stop it where you can not unlock them. I was seeing somewhere you could buy them where the second bios was already set to 6970. Also I dont know much about monitors any sugestions to stay reasonably priced and to run three?

Current 6950's can't be unlocked but the ones that can be are sapphiere ones, that cost a good amount more than the regular 6950. Just get a twinfrozr iii 6950, and oc it.

so that would be the best for my money the twinfrozer iii 6950 and oc it, I will be running two of them. or any other suggestions?

560ti HAWK (hawk=twinfrozr iii) These come stock oc'ed to 950mhz and perform basically as a gtx 570.

I understand Battlefeild 3 works best with Radeon there is no doubt about that. I have $600.00 to spend on my GPU should I run dual 6950's maybe one 6970 and a 6870 or one 6990... What best way to spend $600.00on Radeon????

if you wanna spend that much amount of money on gpu you should go with the new hd 7970 or wait for more products such as gtx 6xx series and hd 7xxxx whole series to come out but if want gpu now then go for an hd 7970 and if u want a more cheaper card with in $300 half of ur budget just go for an hd 6950 2gb twinfozer iii.

just overclock and unlock shader unit.:) dont spend that much money for higher gpu just go with it.it will max out the mordern games at 1080p and can also work till more 2-3 years with that resolution with mordern games.:)

during gaming, pcie 3.0 cards don't get bottlenecked on pcie 2.0 slots yet. so using a pcie 3.0 card like 7970 shouldn't be a problem. the 8120 should be good enough to run a 7970 3gb. if you can wait a bit, slightly lower end 7950 (3/2 gb), 7870 cards should come out soon. for eyefinity, those cards and their larger size (and bandwidth) vram should help.
bf3 actually favors nvidia cards more. bf3 has an anti aliasing technology developed by nvidia - fxaa. that, combined with msaa can make any 6950/6970 suffer.

other than that, the 69xx cards perform very well with bf3.
