Hey guys, I am building my own computer for the first time and I have a question regarding monitors and OS. Firstly, I was wondering if anyone had a good suggestion on a monitor that is in the range of 100-130ish dollars. I don't need one big and fancy, just one that will get the job done. Second, what is the difference between Windows 7 Ultimate, Professional, and Home Premium? I do not know which one to choose and I was wondering if anyone could help me out with this. Thanks a bunch in advance!

Monitor: BenQ G2222HDL
OS: You will probably only ever need Home Premium. Ultimate has the language packs, and XP mode. Anything else is pretty much useless.

I generally recommend Home Premium - as it has everything you need for less than $100. You only need 7 Pro if you're running Windows XP legacy drivers and programs, or you're running a RAM allotment that's greater than 16GB. You only need Ultimate if you're running any of the language packs.

As far as monitor goes - that's a lot of personal preference but generally Asus, Acer, Dell, Viewsonic, Samsung, and HP make the best monitors.

Here's a couple of recommendations:

- Acer:
- Asus:
- Viewsonic:

That should give you some general idea.

If you don't mind refurbished, I've seen a few 24" monitors in that range.

As far as OS, unless you are a business or need absolutely everything available Home Premium should work just fine for most people. I only use Professional because I got the Key for free from a friend.
