Why my graphic card ati 5470 drivers for dell laptop is not working??

Are you using the AMD drivers from Dell's website or are you using the drivers from AMD's website?

Many laptops need specifically modified graphic drivers from the laptop's brand (Dell in your case). This is why generic graphic drivers from AMD or nVidia downloaded directly from their websites will not work with all laptops.

My friend was having a similar problem with his hd mobility 5850 in an alienware. Not sure if AMD changed their forums around lately( within 2 weeks) or not but i cannot find the laptop section they used to have. One of the admins had posted that amd/ati has a contract with dell/alienware. Basically AMD/ATI are not allowed to provide updated drivers for the video cards in laptops. The only think that your actually getting when you download a new "driver" (only applies to laptops) from them is just an updated CCC. My friend fixed his by restoring to factory settings. Which included the original video driver the laptop shipped with. And never installed CCC. But before you do that i would check the dell web site to see if they have a driver for your laptop. The date on it may look old, but its the most recent one they have approved for your laptop. I would try dell website 1st, but if that densest work, i would just restore to original settings if you can. glgl

What is your graphics card? If it is a AMD then you need to go to the AMD web site and down load the drivers from them here is a link to them and Good luck to you.
